There has to be a better solution then the one I've seen so many people use to track the activity of their users. I honestly feel that having your board tweet every time they logon or do anything on your board is a waste of the twitter service. Twitter service does not equal notification service. :P
It would be cool to see someone work on a mod that a sysop can view
stats of their board when they're away from home. Maybe a dashboard
that collects data from their BBS system.

I've seen several boards do this and as much as it serves it's purpose, that is a bandaid solution and not a true solution for what you need.
I have one in the works but it's far from being release ready. I'd be interested to know if something already exists or if this would be something useful I should put more time into and people would actually use?
it's only coding something that reads the .dat files etc and creates a .html file.

I couldn't agree any more. Never understood the reason why you have to tweet that Joe Blow ran LORD. I completely agree it's a waste of Twitter.
Yeah this would be a great addition even if it was exported to text AND/OR HTML/JSON :)
I hooked up achievements to Twitter for giggles, but I think certainly logins are a bit much. A users *winning* LORD may be OK.
Achievements are definitely Twitter worthy. :D At least you know that
areas
of your board are being used. Logins shows nothing. :D

On 23 Apr 2019, StackFault inked down this thought...

I'm not sure if there are any out in the wild that's already done. If there is I'd definitely be interested. There's a bunch of data that is collected by Mystic that would be awesome to be exportable but a tool or utility program. If you have any projects that you're working on, don't worry about this one. I just threw it out there as it's a need for our Mystic BBS community.
For what its worth, I used to add menu options that would make a log
entry for all the parts that I wanted to track. Then I would write a
shell script that would read the node.log files and tabulate the results.
