• MorphOS on and older iMac?

From Smooth@10:103/11.1 to All on Wednesday, May 04, 2022 14:20:17
Can MorpOS be installed on an older iMac? I just found this site that
sells older iMac's for cheap. It's a site called "Woot" which is an Amazon company that sells refurbished products.

    Woot! (refurbished iMacs):

I wouldn't take a Mac if someone PAID me to take it. Or an iPhone for that matter.

I don't think any of these are PowerPC iMacs. MorphOS doesn't work on Intel hardware. If you can find a G4 iMac, you might be in good shape, though.

Hahah. I used to be in the same mindset till 2011 when I started developing mobile friendly web application and began competing in my first hack-a-thons. Having to test the display of responsive applications on mobile/smart devices gives you a greater appreciation of multiple system types and OSes.

I've worked at several large companies that hosted everything in the cloud and a couple of them weren't entirely Microsoft dev shops. Several of them had hybrid dev groups such as LiveNation/Ticketmaster and NBCUniversal (eOnline/Esquire). I used to be a die-hard Microsoft cheerleader till I found out I make more money to be familiar with more then just Windows and Windows Dev. For everyone that was doing dev on Linux/Unix, LiveNation provided us with
Macbook Pros to dev on. Many don't know, but MacOS is a Unix based environment
and many of our dev/build/test tools ran faster on MacOS vs Windows.

Ahh that's right. I totally forgot about the PowerPC requirements. :D
