    Hey everyone,

I am able to use Netrunner on my windows 10 (latest ver) box and I love it. Fullscreen on my widescreen flat panel and it is responsive and everything displays beautifully in ANSI via ssh or telnet.

The problem is I do not commonly use my win10 box as a daily driver. I'm a linux user and it makes me feel akin to cheating on a spouse to do that constantly. I have reported the issues I'm having (via SDL libraries) with running netrunner in my linux environment so until that gets sorted out I am
in the market for a modern capable linux terminal that will fullscreen
display when i connect to telnet/ssh boards.

Guake (a graphical based drop-down linux terminal with ansi support) is what
I use in a pinch but when I do i just use the generic telnet program and as
you well know that is not the best client for compatibility with some of the modern era improvements to bbsing. However, it does display 99% of the art corretly (on boards i have dialed at least) if i resize the window just
right to get everything aligned. So that works in a pinch but I'd much
rather be using netrunner. I tried qmodem and it was displaying ansi blocks
as chinese characters and every font i tried to change was wonky. Then a install of qodem was hacky and it just felt overly complex and like I was fighting with everything in it.. then it wouldn't emulate my keyboard
correctly despite the options i configured and it locked up a few times.
Grr. Anyone have a diff option?

Perhaps I can install a stripped down Windows 7 Qube and run netrunner in
that just solely for that purpose? Where can i find a non malware'd stripped down win7 tho? argh.

My grey is going gray here! :)

Give SyncTerm a shot - syncterm.bbsdev.net - this should get you sorted. I
also prefer netrunner but SyncTerm is my backstop when netrunner isn't
    possible for whatever reason.

I did this as well and I could not get it to compile for the life of me.
I met all the dependencies and it still wont compile. I know that it is supposed to let me compile without ssh support if it can't find the crypt.h library but I extracted the zip that is included in the source archive and
even dropped it in almost every folder in the dir tree and it STILL cannot
find it and I know it's present and the build fails.

I searched the web for help and no solution would work for me.
I'm probably overlooking something simple that my sleep deprivation is contributing to me missing.. any suggestions?

Go on EFNET and join #synchronet, DEUCE [author of SyncTerm] is usually on there to answer any questions you may have about SyncTerm.
