• fTelnet (advanced features)

From Smooth@10:103/11 to All on Saturday, November 21, 2020 11:20:30
After messing around with configurations of fTelnet, I found that it
supports higher resolutions outside of the normal 80x25(4:3 aspect ratio).
It worked perfectly at 132x37 (16:9 aspect ratio - widescreen monitors). fTelnet also supports multiple font display on the same page/screen and extended color palettes as well. I'm gonna be working on a some code to
allow a user to switch modes on a web page when logging on to boards that support both resolutions.

I'm using fTelnet app on my ipad, codepages seem to refresh the whole page in the new codepage font.

I was thinking about build a docker image from customized source to get multiple fonts at same time working-- maybe because I am using the app instead of the online version.. now i need to test :P.

I just checked the online version (embed.ftelnet.ca) but it switches the

Could you check if you have the same behaviour on my board? Netrunner works perfectly. Or am I using the incorrect codeswitch maybe..

The issue with this and many other sequences is not all terminals implemented the exact same functionality. cterm.txt and bansi.txt have some good information on `ESC [ p1 J` if you want more info.

It has been a while, but I tinkered with the embedded fTelnet client a lot
and I came up with some tweaks you might enjoy.

    - Scale window to larger screen sizes as 1280 width and 2440 width.
    - Remove distracting status bar, button bar etc.
    - Non disturbing background and some other css.

If you are curious please check bbs.opicron.eu link.

Also I reached out to Rick to see if he had the opportunity to implement the multiple code pages in the embedded version of fTelnet.

    - Non disturbing background and some other css.

Oh nice. I'll have to check it out. :D
Also I reached out to Rick to see if he had the opportunity to implement the multiple code pages in the embedded version of fTelnet.

That would be awesome if he's able to do it. :D

It has been a while, but I tinkered with the embedded fTelnet client lot and I came up with some tweaks you might enjoy.

    - Scale window to larger screen sizes as 1280 width and 2440 width.
    - Remove distracting status bar, button bar etc.
    - Non disturbing background and some other css.

I'd love to see the source to this - do you have it on github or anything?

Also I reached out to Rick to see if he had the opportunity to implem the multiple code pages in the embedded version of fTelnet.

That would be awesome if he's able to do it. :D

How hard could it be? Maybe we can just fork it?

I see he has an experimental build with RIP somewhere as well...I'd be
curious to mess with it for sure.

Did you check the link? bbs.opicron.eu, it is just some simple CSS to make it
a lot nicer =). I send send you the CSS if you wish.

He already implemented multiple codepages in the source. However he did not carry the changes over to the embedded version yet. Can not take too long now
    I think.

I was thinking about build a docker image from customized source to g multiple fonts at same time working-- maybe because I am using the ap instead of the online version.. now i need to test :P.
The online version (web version) works well and will display the multiple fonts on the same page with no problems.

I am having deja vu now, we had this exact talk before =). Embedded fTelnet does not support multiple code pages on the same screen.

That is the reason why I poked Rick on Github. He implemented it in the non-embed version.

If you want to be sure, check out the embedded fTelnet on the following link https://bbs.opicron.eu :P.
