It's fan fiction, written in the style of "The Third World War" by
General Sir John Hackett, or Max Brooks' World War Z.
I have to push it to my tablet and try to read... but even just from a browsing perspective.. it just looks great and like a lot... like
really a lot of work in all departments.
It was a quick read, very entertaining, and showed incredible detail
that wasn't covered in two episodes, and tied into current canon.
It reminded me of the Star Trek: Vanguard series, a series of books set
in what could be described at TOS-adjacent. The Enterprise and crew play
a minor role in the book, and it describes life on a station a century
before DS9. I especially liked the callback to Scott and his bottle of
green whiskey.
