I was listening to one of my favorite chiptune artists, Mesu Kasumai. He was in a great 8-bit record group called 8bitpeoples, that, when they went under donated all of their music to the Internet Archive. Boss Move, that.

I noticed that when playng a song from the Internet Archive, you have an option for Player/WebAmp. Curious, I click the webamp button and I'm faced with a pretty functional version of WinAmp in a browser window! They even loaded a couple of skins onto it.

I *need* Webamp for my music stream - and that meatspace WinAmp player I read about - https://www.xda-developers.com/real-life-winamp-player-raspberry-pi/

https://archive.org/details/8bp032 - Mesu Kasumai - "My Fiero". Chiptunes covers of 80s hits.

I don't remember exactly how, but I recall coming across this at some point and thinking it was pretty cool, myself!

That's pretty cool. I recall seeing another one that was a lot more sleek and compact, or maybe it was just a skin for an unrelated device. I figured this is what you were linking, but nope. Very nostalgic stuff in any case.

Wow, that's cool. I've been listening to a lot of chiptunes on YouTube but this seems like a better way to store stuff locally and take it on the go with me.

Nice! I'm going to mess with this now lol.

Love chiptune covers! I was recently down a rabbit hole of covered Tool songs. Very impressive with all the polyrhythms and stuff.
