go
from desk to desk, many students miss out on personal assistance like they normally do at school. Some parents are too busy or do not have the know
how to help their kids at home. Other parents may not be computer or
internet savvy enough to search for the solutions for their kids.
Connectivity in the home is a major issue for distance learning. Just
setting up a wireless internet in the home is key for children to properly learn remotely. A badly setup wireless router in the home could cause lag
or connectivity issues. Nothing sucks more than having connectivity issues when there is several other students video streaming on a single meetup call. The most common complaints that I hear daily when my son is in class is:
1) I can't hear the teacher (or other students).
2) I can't see anyone else's video.
3) I keep getting disconnected.
Although it could be the laptops that the school provides for them. My son
has never had any of those issues in our home (Thanks to Dad. <smile>). But not all households have that luxury as it may not be something that all
parents have the skillset or knowledge for. Everyone can't afford the
fastest internet, but it's not always required for something like distance learning. It's just a matter of knowing how to setup your home for the best possible throughput and connection to the wireless internet router.
I think schools should have a help page for that on their website. Many parents still struggle with searching on Google or YouTube for the answer.
hehe
I myself don't like that, but it seems that remote school and work are future. Technological advancement will be isolating us from basic
I think so too. Although many places conduct everything through Zoom and Google Meetup video calls, improvements will be made to sites like Google Glassroom, Google Docs, and Cloud Storage Services (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox) to integrate well with someone's educational or job workflow.
