I'm an avid fountain pen user and collector for quite some time. But within the last 5-6 years I've been working on my note taking and
entering info into a personal or dev general so that I don't forget a thing. Memory goes with age. :P Notebooks can get expensive if you're looking for high quality brands.
My wife calls herself a "pen whore." LOL When we would go to conferences and such she would collect as many different pens as possible. When I
go in a store I might browse the Hot Wheels, looking for a new
Gaslands vehicle, but she'll look at the pens. :-)

I'm definitely a pen whore (male version).
I'm the same way when I go
to conferences. In the past you'd always find me splitting from the
family at the mall and going directly to Best Buy or some other manly
man store. hehe But ever since my younger daughter and son have been
old enough to start using pens and fountain pens, I've started them on dad's OTHER expensive hobby. My dad taught me to have great penmanship and I've vowed to do the same with my kids. Most malls have begun
opening up stationary shops that carry pens and stationary from around
the world
and journaling has grown because of the large brand selection
of notebooks and pens that are made available to the public.
Hope you find it at a Walmart near you and that your wife enjoys it. :)

I've bought many notebooks including brands such as Moleskin,
Leuchterm, and Rhodia. I saw a video about a new brand that's popping
up in Walmart stores for fraction of the price of the bigger name journals, planners, and mini notebooks. For a price comparison most of the big brands range from $20-$40. These Exceed journals are running between $7-10.
Worth a look. I use fountain pens, and I've been happy with some of
the no-name dot grid notebooks - the one I'm using now was $8.56. I
use a Pilot Metropolitan and a handful of no-name ebay fountain pens,
with little or no bleeding.
